Happy “Your” Day to all the mothers out there!
It has been many years since my mother left us to move to the next step in her journey to eternity. Mother’s Day serves as a yearly reminder of what an amazing person my mother was and the treasure trove of lessons that she taught me during her abbreviated life.
Mothers come to us in all walks of life. They are our actual mothers, our grandmothers, our sisters, our aunts, our neices, our neighbors, our coworkers, and in every case they are formidable women with tremendous capacity to love, soothe, comfort, and take care of those of us who have come to love the mothers in our lives.
Thank you, Mothers! Thank you for your perspective. Thank you for your unconditional love. Thank you for the grace that only a mother can access. Thank you for loving us at times when we are not lovable.
Today is Mother’s Day, and we set this day apart from all others to recognize and honor the mothers that mother us so well.
I hope you take time today to find a mother and hug her.
