A life of conviction carries with it a confidence that no one can shake.
Do you act on your beliefs and convictions? Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine a life that is absent fear and uncertainty. Imagine your life as you would live it with purpose and chasing down goals with bold tenacity. Now, go live that life!
The truth is that we must… MUST have faith in our own convictions and be goal-oriented individuals. When we consider every action and its eventual contribution to our goal, we move through the seasons of our lives with great clarity. Everyone will not always agree with your positions or beliefs, but we tend to respect and revere those people who live their passions.
A friend of mine has a really good life. He is content in his career, has a loving family, is well respected in his community, and he is a great person. Not too long ago he shared a story with me of having been offered a position with a different company. Without even flinching, he declined the offer. For certain, his suitors knew his value and made him a job offer that was far more lucrative than his current position. Nonetheless, my friend thanked them kindly and stayed on his path. The thing is that my friend gets to make a difference in his current role. Well respected in his position, his integrity is beyond reproach, and he aims to keep it that way.
Much like my friend, many of us are faced with decisions that give us pause and allow us to question the path that we’re on. Do you answer quickly, or do you start to see a different version of your life? Like a crow, do you see shiny things and get distracted from your chosen path?
Likewise, if you’re on a path you wouldn’t choose for yourself, are you doing something about it? The important take-away from this is to know yourself. What are you meant to do and are you doing it? If not, make a plan today and map your action steps. Do something toward your true goals every day, and your life will change.
BE BOLD. STAND TALL. SPEAK TRUTH. MOVE FORWARD. Tomorrow begins today.
